After Hours Animal Drop-off

Climate Controlled After Hours Animal Drop-off Location

Thanks to 2021 grant funding from Carroll Petrie Foundation in Santa Fe, Alamogordo Animal Control is able to offer a safe, climate controlled, after-hours animal drop off location. The outbuilding is on the South side of the Animal Control building at 2190 N Florida Ave.

This new outbuilding will allow citizens to drop off animals found within the city limits, beyond Alamogordo Animal Control’s normal business hours (Monday - Saturday 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm). Citizens are encouraged to transport found animals to the outbuilding located on the south side of the Animal Control building. Citizens will then contact the Alamogordo Police Department Dispatch at 575-439-4300 and provide the following information:

  • Where the animal was found
  • Your first and last name
  • Your telephone number.

Dispatch will then be able to grant access into the climate-controlled outbuilding where the animal can be safely housed. “The Alamogordo Police Department is very grateful for the generous donation from the Carroll Petrie Foundation and making this outbuilding possible. This new building will ensure that animals found outside of normal business hours will be safe and protected from the elements,” said Deputy Chief David Kunihiro.

The new drop-off location is ready for use.
