Records Department

    Note: We do not fingerprint for Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) purposes. You must provide your own cards.

Communications

The Communications Division receives emergency and non-emergency calls for service and dispatches public safety resources for the City of Alamogordo. Dispatchers are trained to handle police, fire, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) calls.

Dispatch Center

APD's Dispatch Center is equipped with state of the art systems including a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, Centracom Series II radio console, enhanced 911, and instant playback modules for radio and telephones. The Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Dispatchers work 10-hour shifts, 4 days on, and 3 days off.

State Certified Dispatchers

Our Dispatchers are state certified for radio dispatch and National Crime Information Center (NCIC). They are trained and certified in the pre-arrival instruction protocols and can provide medical instruction to callers during these types of emergencies. All Emergency Medical Dispatchers are required to continue advanced training in these areas and maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. This division is also instrumental in community 911 programs, providing structured 911 programs in the schools and emergency preparedness programs for the senior citizens of Alamogordo.

Special Events & Parade Permit

The permit is issued subject to all applicable municipal and state laws and specifically subject to the provisions of the codified ordinances of the City of Alamogordo which may apply and may be revoked by the Chief of Police of the Alamogordo Police Department for violation of any of the provisions of said sections. 

Apply for the permit by completing the parade/special events permit online from. Or you can print and fill out the Parade/Special Events Permit (PDF) and return it to the Alamogordo Police Department. The Police Department is located at 700 Virginia Avenue in Alamogordo. The fax number is 575-439-4320. You can also scan your completed form and send it via the Police Department email. There is no fee to apply for a parade/special events permit. 

The Alamogordo Police Department is an Accredited Law Enforcement Agency.
